Package: python-xdg Version: 0.19-3 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream as of november 2010, there is a new version of the base dir specification, 0.7, while pyxdg only implements 0.6. the new version adds an XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, where sockets, named pipes etc. can be stored.
given that the specification is rather strict about creation of that directory (has to be 0700) and specifies the modes files created there must have (e.g. files may be removed automatically if they are older than 6 hours and don't have sticky bit set), i think it would be a good idea to have this implemented in pyxdg. (it might even implement a xdg.BaseDirectory.FileLock(*resource) that creates a lockfile.FileLock in an appropriate location). i am aware this is a pure upstream thing, but i didn't find an issue tracker on the upstream homepage, thus reporting here.
