hi, As far as i can recall, the lsfollowers and lsfollowing commands haven't worked since the oauth change in July last year, (they are still broken as of today). Both fail with a 403 error, regardless of whether you try to check your own followers, or the followers of someone else. if you need any further testing done, let me know.
