Hi,

I'm currently contributing to an open source music player called Clementine:
http://www.clementine-player.org/
It is packaged for Debian

Clementine uses TagLib.
We found few bugs in TagLib that make Clementine to crash when using TagLib.
These bugs have been fixed in TagLib's HEAD but not released yet.
So the crashes still occur with Clementine on Debian (and all
derivative systems).

I thought it might be a good idea to incorporate the fixes downstream,
instead of waiting for a new release of TagLib to be delivered.
For info, here are the bug reported on our side:
http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/issues/detail?id=2323
http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/issues/detail?id=1101

Also, this problem should impact every application that use TagLib,
not only Clementine.

As Clementine is cross-platform, we need to build and deliver TagLib
for Mac OS X and Windows systems.
When doing, we patch it with the following patches to fix the previous bugs:
http://code.google.com/p/clementine-player/source/detail?r=b9bd732bc572bb2b739f2c8d08c42648a2c6f950&repo=dependencies#
Related bug on TagLib's bug tracker:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268401
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=278773

Let me know what you think about this.

Regards,

Arnaud
