In my opinion no: Essentially debathena diverts configfiles which I consider a way of "messing programmatically with configfiles". For examples of real-world problems, also demonstrating the relevancy of this policy, see "Common Issues" section at the bottom of above referenced page. Petter Reinholdtsen [consider it legal] to mess programmatically with configfiles as it is done currently, even though it breaks upgrades. - Jonas [consider it legal]: Explained at 0:32:42 - 0:33:25 in this video: http://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2011/debconf11/low/779_Debian-Edu_Current_Status_and_Development_Ideas_for_the_next_Decade.ogv -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private
