Bibletime is now packaged as bibletime-gtk. Current version is 4.5-1 which is packaged and in Debian. Version 2.5-1 is, relatively speaking, ancient :)
Please try this again with the current version of Bibletime, and let us know if the issue still exists. I believe this was fixed some time ago.
