Hi!

I've talked with Jonathan Carter (the packager) about the ding-libs upload, and I believe we agree that the package should be held until a newer version is ready for sponsoring.

The issue I see is that the -dev library names shouldn't have the soname in them, and that there is a git-repo under collab-maint which is a better base for the package. The diff currently is really just the dev-package names, and we can get a -2 sponsored to the NEW queue if possible? Or is the right procedure to drop the current one and reupload a new -1?

respectfully,

t
