I'm preparing an upload dropping the defoma dependency; is this theone which was bothering you? I checked the other ones, /usr/lib/libwmf-0.2.so.7 has these additional NEEDED entries over /usr/lib/libwmflite-0.2.so.7: NEEDED libfreetype.so.6 NEEDED libX11.so.6 NEEDED libexpat.so.1 NEEDED libjpeg.so.8 NEEDED libpng12.so.0 NEEDED libz.so.1 but libgraphicsmagick3 currently has deps on most of these except libexpat1 (which doesn't pull in anything more itself). so splitting would seem useless after dropping the defoma dep. libwmf0.2-7 also Recommends gsfonts, but so does libgraphicsmagick3.
