PROBLEM
$ gl-setup id_dsa.pub
The default settings in the rc file (/root/.gitolite.rc) are fine for most
people but if you wish to make any changes, you can do so now.

The problem is that when shell processes are run inside Emacs (M-x
shell), the process just cannot launch another editor.
SUGGESTION
Add code to detection if running inside Emacs before starting editor. Emacs
M-x shell ca be detected by examining two environment variables:
EMACS=t
INSIDE_EMACS=23.3.1,comint
Display message at start of gl-setuo(1) and exit:
Aborted. gl-setup cannot be run under Emacs shell.
