These patches aren't considered harmful, but I've feature-frozen the 6.8
packages at this time. Thus, only fixes that affect Debian packaging issues
like upgrades, or more serious bugs, will go in. The patch you want is in
the 6.9rc0 packages that are currently in experimental, so it is
forthcoming and available to you if you really need it.

The main reason is that I'm currently strapped for manpower on these
packages, and I want to direct as much energy as possible towards getting
the new packages ready so that when they are released by upstream we can
get them to you in a more timely fashion than in the past. I hope the 6.9
packages work out for you, and if not, I hope you can at least wait for
them to hit unstable and/or testing. Thanks!
