Package: libprotobuf-java Version: 2.4.1-1 Severity: minor libprotobuf-java depends on default-jre | java5-runtime. I have two questions:
1. Given the package only contains libraries and no executable programs is default-jre required at all? Most other lib*-java libraries I've seen don't have any dependencies on a JRE. 2. If it is required, does it need to be the full JRE, or can the headless JRE suffice? I wouldn't expect libprotobuf-java to require libraries for graphical interfaces. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libprotobuf-java depends on: ii default-jre [java5-runtime] 1:1.6-46 ii gcj-4.4-jre [java5-runtime] 4.4.6-11 ii gcj-4.6-jre [java5-runtime] 4.6.2-2 ii gcj-jre [java5-runtime] 4:4.6.2-2 ii openjdk-6-jre [java5-runtime] 6b24~pre2-1 Versions of packages libprotobuf-java recommends: ii protobuf-compiler 2.4.1-1 libprotobuf-java suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
