Package: xpdf
Version: 3.03-7
Severity: normal

Printing via xpdf no longer works on my system, even after purging and
reinstalling the package. lp is defined as the command listed under
"Print with command:" in the Ctrl-P dialog, and /etc/xpdf/xpdfrc has
the default value
    psFile "|lp"

When I click on the Print button, a job gets sent to the printing
daemon (a notification appears in Gnome, saying 'Printing "(stdin)"'
on my default printer), and after several seconds a
second notification is emitted saying "Printing completed". But
nothing is actually printed.

As far as I can tell my printing system (cups) is properly set up,
with the default printer defined. In particular lp itself works
successfully on the pdf file from the command line, whether using
    $lp myfile.pdf
or using
    $cat myfile.pdf | lp
(emulating xpdf's operation). Either way, lp from the command line
successfully gets the job processed by the printer: the file is printed.

The bug affects all my pdf files.
