Package: powertpo
Version: powertop
Severity: important

Powertop 1.11 (Debian Squeeze) has never worked after the kernel update. (to
2.6.39-bpo.2-amd64)

At first I had the "segmentation fault problem" as already reported here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=610101

recently I have received an acpi update, in fact things changed, but powertop
keeps not working. After collecting data it simply freezes without giving any
error nor showing the "segmentation fault" message anymore so I suppose it is a
different error. The terminal window stops working right after showing the data
collected (which is reasonable) the fact is it does not get updated. It
freezes. Even by "forcing" the refresh (by pressing R) nothing changes. It gets
stuck in that way:

Moreover, the only thing working in that terminal windows is the carriage
return, which has the following effect, this is the windows after about 10
"carriage returns":

you may press whatever you want, nothing is displayed.
