(Thanks for that easy-to-read version!) One minor thing caught my eye in the original text just above your modifications: "If a developer wishes to reply [...] they should simply [...]" is a rather obtrusive use of "singular they". If we want to avoid that I'd suggest "Any developer wishing to reply [...] should simply [...]". It's far from urgent, though. [...] > +<p> > +The bug tracking system will receive the > +message sent at the following addresses: > +</p> The English needs a bit of work there ("will receive messages sent to the following addresses"), but I'd prefer to reorganise things a bit more to make it obvious that it's saying that for all of the following addresses the minimum result is that the message will be filed in the BTS. > +<ul> > +<li> > +<var>nnn</var><code>@bugs.debian.org</code> is also sent to the > +package maintainer and forwarded to <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>, > +but <strong>not</strong> to the submitter; > +</li> > +<li> > +<var>nnn</var><code>-submit...@bugs.debian.org</code> is also sent to the > +submitter and forwarded to <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>, > +but <strong>not</strong> to the package maintainer; > +</li> > +<li> > +<var>nnn</var><code>-mainto...@bugs.debian.org</code> is only sent to the > +package maintainer, but <strong>not</strong> to the submitter > +or to <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>; > +</li> > +<li> > +<var>nnn</var><code>-qu...@bugs.debian.org</code> is not sent to anyone, > +except of course to the bug tracking system as all the previous addresses. > +</li> > +</ul> It wasn't until I read the last one that I was sure what other recipient the "also" was taking for granted in the first two. Would it perhaps be clearer if we changed the order? | Messages can be sent to the following addresses: | | * nnn-qu...@bugs.debian.org - such messages are filed in the bug | tracking system (as are all the following), but _not_ sent to | anyone else; | * n...@bugs.debian.org - these are also sent to the package maintainer | and forwarded to debian-bugs-dist, but _not_ to the submitter; | * nnn-submit...@bugs.debian.org - these are also sent to the | submitter and forwarded to debian-bugs-dist, but _not_ to the | package maintainer; | * nnn-mainto...@bugs.debian.org - these are only sent to the | package maintainer, _not_ to the submitter or debian-bugs-dist. Or to add in the markup: <p> Messages can be sent to the following addresses: </p> <ul> <li> <var>nnn-qu...@bugs.debian.org</var> - such messages are filed in the bug tracking system (as are all the following), but <strong>not</strong> sent to anyone else; </li> <li> <var>n...@bugs.debian.org</var> - these are also sent to the package maintainer and forwarded to <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>, but <strong>not</strong> to the submitter; </li> <li> <var>nnn-submit...@bugs.debian.org</var> - these are also sent to the submitter and forwarded to <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>, but <strong>not</strong> to the package maintainer; </li> <li> <var>nnn-mainto...@bugs.debian.org</var> - these are only sent to the package maintainer, <strong>not</strong> to the submitter or <code>debian-bugs-dist</code>. </li> </ul> -- JBR with qualifications in linguistics, experience as a Debian sysadmin, and probably no clue about this particular package -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
