Hello
When I connect my USB camera to my computer and try to import the
pictures into Gthumb,
there are no devices listed in the source dropdown list.
As far as I can see gphoto2 works fine:
glinkels@lampje-pc:/home/jlinkels$ gphoto2 --list-files
There is no file in folder '/'.
There is no file in folder '/store_00010001'.
There is no file in folder '/store_00010001/DCIM'.
There are 10 files in folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/100___12'.

This happens with both the Canon Powershot A800 and Canon Powershot A560.
The difference between the two cameras is that the A800 (device id 3226)
was not
originally listed in /lib/udev/rules.d/60-libgphoto2-2.rules. I added a
rule for this camera,
identical to for the A560:
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-libgphoto2-2.rules:ATTRS{idVendor}=="04a9",
ATTRS{idProduct}=="3226", ENV{ID_GPHOTO2}="1",
ENV{GPHOTO2_DRIVER}="proprietary", MODE="0664", GROUP="plugdev"
The user is member of the plugdev group. This same user is logged in
into KDE to run gthumb.
Tried also:
jlinkels@lampje-pc:~$ sudo gvfs-mount gphoto2://[usb:001,007]
Error mounting location: volume doesn't implement mount
