Package: liferea Version: 1.6.5-1.2+b1 Severity: wishlist 1.8.0 was apparently released (according to the topic of the IRC channel). Unfortunately, no tags on git can confirm that, and the homepage still lists rc1, but it is fairly clear in the changelog in git that 1.8.0 has been released.
I have tried porting the current package to 1.8, and I gave up, as the git repository seems to have way too many diffs that are not in the debian/patches directory. I am in the process of tryin to do a "blind port" to 1.8 using only the debian/ directory. I had to remove two patches: the default debian feeds add to the opml and the --as-needed fixup. The former should be simple to fix and the latter may already be fixed upstream. the libnotify7 patch isn't necessary anymore. I am hoping that 1.8 will resolve a lot of opened bugs here. Can I upload my results to experimental?
