Package: openssh-client Version: 1:5.9p1-2 Severity: normal I use a jumphost to connect to remote servers, something like:
ssh $jumphost ssh -o ProxyCommand=ssh -q -a -x -W %h:%p $jumphost root@$target Often the main connection dies with this message: Disconnecting: Received open failure for non-opening channel 3. This is not deterministic, so I cannot provide instructions to reproduce this. It /may/ be triggered by sustained traffic in the tunneled connection at the beginning of the session. I use "ControlMaster yes" in ~/.ssh/config and key authentication. The jumphost runs Ubuntu's 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu6. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.utf8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openssh-client depends on: ii adduser 3.113 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.41 ii dpkg 1.16.1.2 ii libc6 2.13-21 ii libedit2 2.11-20080614-3 ii libgssapi-krb5-2 1.10+dfsg~alpha1-6 ii libselinux1 2.1.0-4 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.0e-3 ii passwd 1:4.1.4.2+svn3283-3 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 Versions of packages openssh-client recommends: ii openssh-blacklist <none> ii openssh-blacklist-extra <none> ii xauth 1:1.0.6-1 Versions of packages openssh-client suggests: pn keychain <none> pn libpam-ssh <none> pn monkeysphere <none> pn ssh-askpass <none> -- Configuration Files: /etc/ssh/ssh_config changed [not included] -- no debconf information -- ciao, Marco
