desktopcouch 1.0.8 was uploaded to unstable almost three months ago, I was a
bit surprised by this report :)

(but I admit I don't use desktopcouch much, so it's entirely possible that I
didn't notice it since September or even before... -- btw, I just requested an
adopter for it, since I also lack time now because of work)

Starting desktopcouch-service I sometimes get a "Unable to find port", and
other times a "Connection refused" (sounding like it finds a port to connect
to, then tries connecting to CouchDB and fails.. but the assigned port doesn't
work either, so maybe the desktopcouch httpd fails too)

Also, even if I'm in the "couchdb" group, I still get EACCES errors in
~/.cache/desktop-couch/*.log*. I also "chmod -R a+r /etc/couchdb/", but still
get that error. No clue why it happens.

In one of the last tries before I gave up, I got a "socket.error: 104" error
when starting desktopcouch-service.

I upgraded the severity to be RC -- I will request removal of desktopcouch from
testing later today. As it turns out, desktopcouch is currently unusable, and I
have no idea how to fix it.

This bug has also been filed various times in Ubuntu Launchpad / forums /
blogs / [..], and I haven't seen a single solution to it. I suspect something's
broken upstream, so tagging it accordingly.

I'm sorry,
David
