Package: lists.debian.org Severity: normal Please block posts that are more than half non-English to English-only lists because by definition these posts cannot be on-topic and are probably spam. Similarly, blocking non-Spanish posts to Spanish-only lists, etc. would be great, too. I suspect libtextcat can be pressed into use here and it is very good at determining the language of a given text with few false positives.
I suggest the 50% standard because sometimes people who are not fluent in English post in their native language and English both in hopes of communicating more effectively, and this threshold would permit such posts. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 832 623 2791 | http://www.crustytoothpaste.net/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b: 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
