If you have time to try some kernels from halfway between from http://snapshot.debian.org/package/linux-2.6/ to find the newest version exhibiting the problem and the oldest fixed version, that would be very useful. (Then we can use that information to find the patch that fixed it and try applying said patch to squeeze.)
