The problem being that there is no way to know if the system is ubuntuized
that can be used by menu, so you have to configure su-to-root (see man
su-to-root) or gksu (if you use it).

If you set the sudo option in debian-installer, then gksu should be configured
automatically to use sudo, and so su-to-root will work.
