Maybe should be Serious.
My card is a Radeon HD 5750.
Works fine with 172-1. (Downgraded only the 2 udev packages and it has
fixed it.)
On boot with 175-2 I get the errors;

[ 8.189873] [drm:r600_ring_test] *ERROR* radeon: ring test failed
(scratch(0x8504)=0xCAFEDEAD)
[ 8.189880] radeon 0000:01:00.0: disabling GPU acceleration
Important thing broken for me is not being able to lower power to fix
unnecessary noise.
