Hi,

Thank you your report.

Italian translation work has been dormant for very long time. Its
source has not been converted to the new XML/po4a combination source style.

So it contains too much outdated contents and became unmanageable for
me to keep updating with English version.

For wheezy, I decided to disable all such souses based on SGML before
June 2008. This is before current oldstable=lenny. So I carried these
outdated ones over 2 stable releases.

German, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (Traditional), and
Chinese (Simplified) are also in the same situation.

Since DDP web pages do not erase old build result (at least for now),
you still see these old files. But there is no more package.
(I may find a way to fix translation bug but I have to confess that its
priority is low. I need to create new source tree using old one to do
this.)

I would rather accept updated translations on the current contents of
Debian Reference as po4a based translation. Can you ?

Quick guide:

* Copy debian-reference.pot and rename it to debian-reference.pt.po
* Use po editor such as gtranslator/poedit/Emacs pomode/,,, to translate
it. (You can still use old translation as text reference. But
  markups has changed significantly.)
* Send it to me :-) (thus moreinfo tag)

You can get the latest debian-reference.pot from the web:
See
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/ddp/manuals/trunk/quick-reference/po4a/debian-reference.pot?view=log

Of course, you can use subversion to get the whole DDP files and it
contains entire source.
See http://www.debian.org/doc/cvs

Thanks

Osamu
