Given that this bugs affects squeeze too, I would like to suggest that the symlink be added to the squeeze package as well.
While Debian doesn't ship a 3.0 kernel in squeeze, it doesn't prevent users from installing their own kernel and in that case, tiger doesn't work at all. (One example where you are supplied with a 3.0 kernel on squeeze is on virtual hosting places like Linode.)
