* [Sun, Nov 20, 2011 at 12:55:47PM +0100] Gian Piero Carrubba:
This same bug is occurring again to me:
$ xprop | grep STRUT
_NET_WM_STRUT(CARDINAL) = 0, 25, 0, 0
_NET_WM_STRUT_PARTIAL(CARDINAL) = 0, 25, 0, 0, 1088, 0, 0, 25202240, 1088,
2832618272, 0, 4215058
Downgrading libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-4 -> 2.28.8-1 (and, for dependencies,
glib-networking 2.30.1-3 -> 2.28.7-2) seems to partially solve (or at
least hide) the problem.
While the output of xprop is still weird:
$ xprop | fgrep STRUT
_NET_WM_STRUT(CARDINAL) = 0, 25, 0, 0
_NET_WM_STRUT_PARTIAL(CARDINAL) = 0, 25, 0, 0, 1088, 0, 1088, 13105504, 1088,
2617232352, 0, 4215058
there's no bad interaction with xmonad anymore. I guess that the seventh
field set to 1088 (instead of 0) had done the magic, by putting the
noisy "ghost" panel out of the visible screen.
My opinion, also supported by previous report from Andrew, is that the
implemented fix has "hidden" the bug in some cases (like for my setup
until now).
Thanks,
Gian Piero.
