Let's name systems: desktop: Your X terminal (I.E. you run X server and keyboard is connected) laptop: Your remote system keyboard = desktop ..ssh-connection.. laptop = all your data and services Normal configuration start ibus-daemon on desktop. Sure, unless you run ibus-daemon where X clients are running (=laptop), they get no Korean input. Afterall, ibus is just another X clients. What you did is exactly to run ibus-daemon on laptop. You can kill your ibus on desktop to avoid duplicate panels. (I am not 100% sure but this is my quick response. Exvuse me.) Anyway, all default configuration is for typical desktop system. If you can come up with better solution, let us know. Basically, this is not a bug on software. This is feature request. Thus wishlist.
