Package: dbus Version: 1.2.24-4+squeeze1 Hi
I'm having problems with dbus and 2.6.32-trunk-5 on boot. When I boot into this kernel kdm fails to start and I'm left with a black screen. After investigation, when I boot into the recovery kernel and log in as root /var/run/dbus/ is empty (should have pid system_bus_socket). When I start the dbus daemon the files appear and I can start kdm. However, the problem does not appear when I boot into trunk (2.6.32-trunk-amd64). The absence of /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket is causing kdm (and other systems) to fail and nothing I do seems to make /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket appear on boot. This problem appeared after my kernel wedged on shutdown and I had to perform a hard reset. I have reinstalled the kernel and dbus to no avail. Any ideas on how to get /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket running for 2.6.32-trunk-5 at boot??
