Package: libxml-libxslt-perl
Version: 1.75-1+b1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Perl Maintainers,
working on the translation of the package description (1) to German I found
that short description and first paragraph don't match.

Description: Perl module for using the GNOME libxslt library
XML::LibXSLT is a fast XSLT library, based on the GNOME libxslt engine.

Using some library is not the same as programming something inspired by
   other software.
Upstream (2) calls it an interface:

This module is an interface to the gnome project's libxslt.

Performance is currently about twice that of XML::Sablotron (based on
 XSLTMark tests converted to Perl).
 .
The libxslt processor is also highly standards compliant, with
practically all of XSLT 1.0 being supported in version 0.9 of
 libxslt.

The rest of the description seems quite irrelevant and/or outdated. If the
reader does not know Sablotron and XSLTMark the only thing that remains
is that this module is quite fast. The GNOME library (3) and this module
have version numbers far from 0.9 (1.1.26 and 1.75).

And it would be very convenient for the reader to have an idea what XSLT
means or what can be done with this software (4).

I would like to suggest a starting point for a new description:

Description: fast module for transforming XML documents
XML::LibXSLT is an interface to the GNOME libxslt library. It complies to
 the XSLT 1.0 standard.

Kind regards,
  Martin
