Package: libmysqlclient14 Version: 4.1.13a-3 Severity: minor The runtime library should not recommend the development library. If one thinks about it, how is the functionality of libmysqlclient14 improved without the -dev part?
The Policy states that Recommends packages are not required but without them a given package loses functionality and regular users really should be installing the recommended packages. I do not undestand how this applies in case of libmysqlclient14. - Adam -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libmysqlclient14 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii mysql-common 5.0.11beta-3 mysql database common files (e.g. ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-4 compression library - runtime Versions of packages libmysqlclient14 recommends: pn libmysqlclient14-dev <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
