I don't have any other scsynth processes, I have a working 'localhost' and no firewall. This bug was caused by Jackd. If yo have a sound chip that is unable to do full-duplex audio, it just aborts with an assertion ("'port_index < fPortMax' failed"). This is considered a reasonable behavior for a sound server.
