On the same computer, kernel 3.0.0-1-686-pae, same version of
gnome-media (2.30.0-1), libc6 version 2.13-21, the bugs does not appear.
It disappeared after updating a bunch packages (including the newer
kernel) from testing. I have no idea whether disappearing is a
consequence of changes in the kernel or in configuration of whatever
part of the system, but suggest that the maintainer additionally links
this bug to the 2.6.32-5-686-bigmem kernel package
