Package: xfce4-volumed Version: 0.1.8-1 Severity: important Tags: squeeze Steps to reproduce:
1) Start a new Xfce session. 2) Assuming that NumLock is off, if you change the volume by using the multimedia keys on your keyboard, it works. 3) Now turn NumLock on and try again. It doesn't work. 4) If you turn NumLock off, volume control through multimedia keys starts working again. I've verified this behavior on two systems running Squeeze 6.0.3. One of them is a Dell Vostro 3400, and the other one is a no brand desktop system with an AMD Athlon processor. I think that this issue matches the definition of the "important" severity level: "A bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package" (it affects anyone using the numeric keypad), "without rendering it completely unusable to everyone" (it probably doesn't affect those who don't have a numeric keypad, or those who never turn NumLock on). -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4-volumed depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10 0.10.30-1 GStreamer libraries from the "base ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.30-1 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme ii libnotify1 [libnotify1-gtk2.1 0.5.0-2 sends desktop notifications to a n ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.3.6-1 utility libraries for X C Binding ii libxcb1 1.6-1 X C Binding ii libxfconf-0-2 4.6.2-1 Client library for Xfce4 configure xfce4-volumed recommends no packages. xfce4-volumed suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
