Hi there!

cowbuilder always wants to create hardlinks, thus BUILDPLACE can not be
on a different device than BASEPATH. This is basically the same problem
as for APTCACHEHARDLINK:
=====
root@gismo:/home/luca# grep APTCACHEHARDLINK /usr/share/pbuilder/pbuilderrc
/etc/pbuilderrc
/usr/share/pbuilder/pbuilderrc:APTCACHEHARDLINK="yes"
/etc/pbuilderrc:APTCACHEHARDLINK=no

root@gismo:/home/luca# cowbuilder --update --basepath
/home/luca/chroot/base-sid.cow/
[...]
cp: cannot create hard link `/var/cache/pbuilder/build//cow.20491/.ilist' to
`/home/luca/chroot/base-sid.cow/.ilist': Invalid cross-device link
Failed cowcopy.

root@gismo:/home/luca#
=====

Please note that I firstly discovered it because I set my BUILDPLACE on
a tmpfs, which generates as well the error above.

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
