Ok, this is at least something. Still not enough. For example - how large is large? Is 7Gb enough (I just tried with one of my .mkv's I found around)? > I got no reply on debian-u...@list.debian.org to isolate the > problem. It's definitly a bug and i had similar problems on older > systems, when i switched from xen to kvm. There were bugs - mostly in kernel, also in qemu-kvm userspace, which resulted in broken network (temporary stalls or complete failure) after some amount of data transferred. These times are long gone, with all known bugs fixed long ago. I'm not saying there are no more bugs, I'm just saying that your situation is kinda unique, and you have to provide quite a bit more details in order to even think about the possible direction. > I'm not certain, if kvm or libvirt is responsible for that odd > behaviour, but i'm open to further suggestions and willing to give > further information. It is either qemu-kvm userspace (unlikely) or host or guest (more likely) kernel problem. But it is impossible to tell without any details. For example, what does your VM doing when this occurs? Is it idle or CPU-bound? Does the connection recovers after some time? What are the virtual device(s) in question? Does this occur with different guest and host kernel versions? With all this information, please post to k...@vger.kernel.org mailinglist, -- I can forward your info there, but it is a bad idea to act as a broken phone. Please understand that this is something that works for lots of people (me included) every day, and it is really difficult to say what may be wrong in your case, so far.
