While I agree that a commercial-only upgrade path is bad practice, I
think that packaging version 6 (separately?) makes sense.

I have just fixed two (often reported) issues with the init/postrm
scripts, only to find out that the package has been abandoned in
Debian - and therefore should also get removed in Ubuntu probably.
