There is nothing particular about Xedit regarding this specific bug. With a single exception, every application will crash Mwm, given that one tries to close the application via the dropdown menu from the titel bar. In contrast they all close regularly and successfully using the keyboard short-cut Alt-F4, as is to be expected.
The only exception to the crash is displayed by the Mwm Panel, which is non-closable of natural reasons. Hopefully the above observation will make it feasible to disect this bug properly.
