in man page you can read the following example:
 boot      -fstype=ext2        :/dev/hda1
This should mount an ext2 volume from a local ide drive.

But actually I can find the following lines in the log:
Oct 9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: attempting to mount entry /windows/angol
Oct  9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: lookup_mount: lookup(file): looking up
angol
Oct  9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: lookup_mount: lookup(file): angol ->
-fstype=ntfs       :/dev/sdb1
Oct  9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: parse_mount: parse(sun): expanded entry:
-fstype=ntfs       :/dev/sdb1
Oct  9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: parse_mount: parse(sun): gathered
options: fstype=ntfs
Oct  9 15:41:28 alfi automount[6792]: parse(sun): invalid location  :/dev/sdb1

without : it works
