Package: libpam-ck-connector Version: 0.4.5-1 Severity: important I manage my PAM modules using pam-auth-update. If I enable libpam-ck-connector, when I enter my gnome-screensaver password (this is in GNOME 3) there is a significant (at least 5 second) additional delay before I am logged in. I expect a small delay since I use libpam-krb5 which must talk to the network. However, this delay from libpam-ck-connector is much, much longer and is at times so long that it actually causes the screensaver to time out.
There is a minor workaround, though: if when the password prompt comes up, I hit escape to dismiss it and then bring up another password prompt, the delay is much smaller. It is still noticeable, and still annoying, but it's only a 5 second delay instead of a 30+ second delay. I filed this bug as important because it makes it a crapshoot whether I can log in. Being unable to log in to my laptop does diminish its usefulness somewhat. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-rc4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libpam-ck-connector depends on: ii libc6 2.13-21 ii libck-connector0 0.4.5-1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.16-1 ii libpam-runtime 1.1.3-4 ii libpam0g 1.1.3-4 libpam-ck-connector recommends no packages. libpam-ck-connector suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 832 623 2791 | http://www.crustytoothpaste.net/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b: 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
