Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal lib64stdc++6 very recently changed from being optional to important and is therefore now installed by default on all systems by debootstrap. IMO it is broken to have a 64 bit library installed by default on 32 bit systems.
<snip from #debian-release> [16:19:59] <fjp> Anybody know why lib64stdc++6 was changed from prio optional to important? [16:21:23] <fjp> This makes it being installed on all systems by default which IMO should not be needed (and breaks unstable d-i installs as long as libc6-amd64 is not available) [23:17:29] <vorlon> fjp: blame jvw, I think :) [23:17:57] <fjp> vorlon: Should this be reverted? [23:18:13] <vorlon> fjp: sounds like it to me [23:18:59] <vorlon> there may be a reason for it, or he may have just bumped it accidentally when adjusting the priorities of the other gcc-4 packages. [23:19:38] <fjp> IMO if it needs to be installed by default in some arches, that should be set in debootstrap in arch specific rule -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: sparc (sparc64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-sparc64 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
