Package: libfam0 Version: 2.7.0-17 Severity: important libfam0 exports the symbols for a C++ class "Client" even though these symbols are not part of the actual libfam API. They needless clutter the global symbol namespace, for example causing a crash in Kopete (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268056) which loads an internal library that also exports such a class, resulting in symbol collision.
Installing gamin instead of libfam fixes the problem, because gamin does not export these symbols. libfam should be patched to hide the internal C++ classes. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-rc6-selfcompiled+ (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
