I understand. It's an important package affecting many things and the bug itself isn't critical.
It's a shame to not have the feature, since it allows enabling arbitrary options, but indeed the stable kernel probably doesn't support anything that stable libe2p doesn't. So for the majority of users this probably won't be too important. In my case I was using a custom 2.6.38 kernel for the embedded system, hence my desire for enabling the "discard" option.
