What seems to be happening is this: Select a piece of text for copying. Now a middle click paste will work only if the text is still highlighted. Unclicking the selected text appears to clear the buffer, making the middle click paste not work.
The buffer should not be cleared unless another selection has been made to overwrite it, so one a selection is made, it should remain available for paste, regardless of whether the selection is highlighted or not.
