This still needs to happen at some point.
The advantage of writing to the real dpkg path is that dpkg will
automatically remove the debsums-generated md5sums file when the package
is upgraded, so that debsums knows to regenerate it. If debsums wrote
its md5sums file anywhere else, it would be hard to prevent it from
getting stale.
