Package: ruby1.9.1 Version: 1.9.2.290-2 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch Hi,
1.9.3 HEAD has a patch that significantly improves the speed of requiring files, resulting in significant boot time improvements. See this for more detail: http://www.rubyinside.com/ruby-1-9-3-faster-loading-times-require-4927.html The seciond file in this gist contains a backported version of the patch for 1.9.2p290. https://gist.github.com/1008945 While we're waiting for 1.9.3 to be released as stable and available in debian sid it would be *really* handy to have this backported patch applied to 1.9.2p290. The boot time on my rails app makes running the test suit a real hassle. cheers! -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ruby1.9.1 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-18 ii libruby1.9.1 1.9.2.290-2 ruby1.9.1 recommends no packages.
