When updating yesterday via synaptic (mark all upgrades) there was an update of c2esp to v18-4, but it wanted to remove cups and cups-pdf. I let it, thinking I could just re-install cups afterward -- but re-installing cups then removes the c2esp and the foo2zjs packages.
So at the moment I have cups installed but not c2esp. I installed virtual box over the weekend and have the printer working in both Fedora 15 and Debian squeeze guests, so for now I can get by using a shared folder with one of those in VM when I need to print something under wheezy.
