Ha -- thanks, David! I though that the project was dead. Thank
you Eric for keeping the project going. Hopefully I will take care
about debian package soon!  Though:

* why fresh git repo? you could easily transfer all the history from
  SVN using git-svn -- e.g. I already have some in my clone -- can push
  fresh one, we could rewrite it a bit to have your correct GIT id, and
  cherry pick your only fresh commit in GIT... do you want me to do
  that?

* why /usr/bin/python2?  http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0394/  is
  still in 'Draft' mode, so don't expect all systems to have it... and I
  don't think that in any foreseeable future majority of the systems
  would switch to python3 as the default one

  Cheers
