Package: ppp
Version: 2.4.5-5
Severity: normal

I can't reproduce this "bug" in all modems. If I disconnect USB modem, works
fine, but I would like understand why this is happening.

I start pppd like this:

 # pppd -detach debug call my_provider

And nothing is shown at terminal. In syslog we have only one line, and chat
script is not executed:

  -- Aug 26 10:21:37 janus pppd[9195]: pppd 2.4.5 started by root, uid 0

I believe that is a some kind of "special state on my modem", because if I only
change my modem device to another modem, works fine.

But I can't figure out because ppp don't show me any message and don't receive
SIGTERM, only KILL.

I can open my modem at minicom with sucess, and send commands to modem witout
problems.
