Package: dbus Version: 1.2.24-4+squeeze1 I would like to run gnome-terminal on several remote Linux machines in parallel (Squeeze and openSUSE 11.3). My desktop runs Squeeze, too.
Problem: For the _second_ Debian host (and all following Debian hosts) I get an error message like % gnome-terminal Failed to get the session bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-dDOKmLi6GG: Connection refused Falling back to non-factory mode. Failed to summon the GConf demon; exiting. Failed to contact configuration server; the most common cause is a missing or misconfigured D-Bus session bus daemon. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1: Failed to get connection to session: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-dDOKmLi6GG: Connection refused) gnome-terminal works fine on the first Debian host, on my desktop PC and all remote openSUSE hosts. xterm works every- where. Of course I didn't touch the default dbus configuration on any host. Regards Harri -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
