Everything looks alright in that log file, it is debug output rather than error output. The only problem I see is the http 404 error when it tries to download one of the radar images. The server it uses isn't always them most reliable so the 404 may actually be a server problem and you just need to try again a couple minutes later.
When you say that `it was all blank gray', do you mean the progress bar or the whole window? The progress bar should get replaced with a message along the lies of `Fetch failed' or the filename of the gif if the download was successful.
