  As I said, it froze for some files for me as well. Seems it gets
  hanged in a futex() call.

  Anyway, I moved my ~/.xine away, and reconfigured the engine to use
  alsa (that's what I previously had), and works now. I have no idea,
  though, what setting in the old config triggers the hang...

  Can you test?
