Hi, Sorry for the delay of answer. Peter and I have just started maintaining the package. I guess the previous maintainer, who looked for help to maintain and orphaned festival, didn't have the time to study and apply your patch. We are going to study this and we probably will answer next week or in about 2 weeks.
